Hi all!

Today we’re talking about floor cushions.  I like to add floor cushions to spaces that children frequent so they have something to lounge on while hanging out with the family or watching tv.  Another benefit is that they don’t take the really nice sofa pillows and roll them around on the floor!  I was looking for a pair of neutral ones yesterday and thought I’d share a few of my favs, along with tips for picking the best one for you.  First, let’s start with a couple of classics.

You really can’t go wrong with these two options, but you do need to know what you want out of a floor cushion.  Both of the options above are leather, which is great for wear and tear, but not super soft and comfy.  The Crate option is flat which is great for lounging.  The Morrocan pouf is taller and more suited for leaning or sitting.

Here’s a really soft, textural option from West Elm.  A great option for lounging.

I have always loved these felt wool “stones”.  They are a bit pricey, but what a great statement piece in a space.  They are similar in function to the Moroccan poufs, great for leaning or sitting.

This crocheted option from Etsy is my current favorite.  Each one is hand crafted by lacasadecoto in Spain.  I love the touch of gray.

They even have this option that fits over Ikea’s Alseda floor cushion.  Both of these options offer fabulous texture and comfort.  I’ll be putting these on my Christmas list, for sure!

There are many options when it comes it floor cushions.  Make sure you know how you plan to use them before you make your choice.  Whether they’re used as extra seating, lounging or leaning, there’s definitely something for everyone.

Now, on to my vacation news. Once I finish this post, I’ll be packing like a mad woman to get ready for a trip tomorrow.  I will be leaving on my very first cruise with my mom, my mother in law and my sister in law!  I have to admit that I have been a bit nervous about being on a boat for a week, but I’m getting excited about it now.  Especially when I see photos like this…

St. Maarten

This is one of the places we’ll be visiting.  The only bad part of this trip is that I really won’t be able to use the internet, so I may have serious blog withdrawal before I get back.  Hopefully, I’ll get a post or two done, but if not, I hope you all have a wonderful week.  I’ll be back in force on Monday, 11/14!

Take care!

  1. Thanks for your reviews and feedback on these. I really like the Crate and Barrel option as they look like they could easily “hide” under a coffee table or get stored elsewhere when you don’t want them out. The “stone” poufs are really fun looking. I like the option of having these around for lounging and for some texture. Have a wonderful time on your trip – sounds the perfect thing to be doing and St. Martin looks beautiful. Enjoy!!
