Guess what I found?

These beauties called my name as I pushed my cart by them in my local HomeGoods the other day.  At $29.99 each, they were a steal and I had to have them.

Here’s a shot with the light off. It’s a great mercury glass look which I love and is so popular now.  Have you noticed that it’s everywhere lately?  Doesn’t bother me, though. I’ve always liked what I liked no matter what the trend, and it’s always served me well.

My house

Here’s a shot of my two lovelies in their new home, over the mantle in the seating area of my kitchen.  My goal is to move these into my dining room at some point.  I’m on the lookout for a console table that I can cover with some fabulous fabric to add some pop to my dining room.  I’ve been thinking about it for a while now.  Elizabeth from The Mustard Ceiling had a great tutorial yesterday on her blog. After reading it, I thought, I can do that too!  So, keep an eye out, console table project to come!

Have a great day!

Retail therapy at West Elm

Have you been in West Elm lately? I made it into our local store the other day and thought I’d share a few photos.  I’ve always loved West Elm, but something about this fall’s new collection has really caught my eye.

I’m a huge fan of mercury glass and these mushrooms make me smile.

Love this display of white platters, plates and bowls.  Definitely planning to use this idea in one of my future projects.  Fabulous look without spending a fortune!

Great texture, exactly what West Elm does best, a bit of modern mixed with a more traditional, casual look.

Love the vignettes they put together in the store.  Wonderful merchandising.

Pops of color still reminds me of summer…

But fall is right around the corner. This photo really does no justice to the hanging display at the front of the store.  The gourds, driftwood and twigs made for the perfect modern fall feel.

Hope you enjoyed the West Elm tour. Have a great day!
