A few weeks back Lakeitha from Home to Three Duncan Boys invited me to go shopping with her at HomeGoods. Along with her fabulous company, I would also receive a $50 gift card! I said, “Let me check my schedule, LaKeitha.” (Just kidding, shopping at HomeGoods for free!? I jumped at the chance!)
So, this past Saturday was the day. We had to meet early, 7:45 to be exact, because we also got to shop before they officially opened the store. Then they rolled out the red carpet(not really, but it would have been fun!), served some yummy food and let us go to it!
I wandered a a bit at first, of course I visited the lamp section, as always, it was one of my favorites, but I really didn’t need a lamp. Lakeitha ended up getting the two cream beauties here.
As I made my way through the store, I ran into Rhoda from Southern Hospitality and her very sweet mama, Iris. We chatted for a bit and I moved on with my search.
Loved this! Not sure if you can tell much about it from this photo, but it’s a framed memo board. You are supposed to write directly on the glass. It’s going to be the inspiration for a DIY project for my oldest’s room. (Promise, I’m still working on that project!)
What do you think? Maybe not your cup of tea, but I he reminds me of a this one at Young House Love that met an unfortunate end. I sent Sherry a quick note today, so she could check her local Home Goods for a replacement!
I visited the pillows and even though there were all colors and sizes, there was nothing perfect for me and I was beginning to get a little worried. What if I didn’t find anything? That $50 gift card was burning a hole in my pocket! Everyone else’s carts were overflowing. What was wrong with me?
But then it happened, as it always does as I walk through the aisles at HomeGoods (oh, who am I kidding, pretty much any other store as well…) I found the perfect things for me. You see, I’m in the process of adding a lighter feel to my family room. It needs a bit of a summer update, nothing crazy, no all white for me, but just some new pillows and a few accessories. So even though I didn’t find the perfect pillows, I did find these lovelies.
The boxes and this snazzy frame will add that pop of color that I’m looking for.
And to top it off, I also found these hand towels and cute plates for the kitchen. The blue hand towels may become pillows for my guest room. We’ll see…
So, anyway there was a happy ending to my shopping spree. I spent my $50 gift card with no problem. Was there ever really any doubt that I would? Many thanks to Lakeitha for inviting me!
What have you found lately to add a bit of summer pizazz to your home?
