Just a quick post to give you an update on my room at Nicholas House.  It has been a whirlwind week so far, but in such a great way!  Everyone’s rooms are coming together and they look amazing.  I can’t wait to show you the final shots.  But right now, I thought I would show you a few photos of the past couple of days.

We finally finished painting!  Let me say right now that I could not have done any of this without my friend Heidi.  She has been with me every step of the way, painting, putting together furniture, cleaning the floors on her hands and knees!  You name it, she’s done it!

Today we made this Roman Blind, more details to come on the how-to.  A great project, I can’t wait to show you next week!

Here it is hung.  Let me tell you, it is no small feat to hang a blind in a window that is over 100 years old.  Nothing about it is level…

This is Kristen from Kristen F. Davis Designs.  She came today to add this beautiful addition above the bunk beds in my room.  More on Kristen and her amazing talent next week!

I couldn’t leave you without a shot of our Nicholas House room mascot.  This is Oscar.  He belongs to the little boy who lives in our room.  Every day when we get ready to leave I write a note for Oscar’s family and they write us back that night.  I really can’t express how meaningful this experience has been and continues to be for me.  Oscar represents this family to me.  I am doing everything I can to make his home and their’s the best it can be.

More to come…
